Life Lesson, Part 1

Everyone of us has been confident at some point of our life which changed OUR perspective of life; which also changed OTHERS perspective about us. One such incident happened in my life: There was this one time when I was facing electrical issues with my AC power socket. I noticed that the stabilizer turns off even if the main power switch is in ON position. So, I called my electrician. He came and checked thoroughly, did some wiring changes, demonstrated that it's working and left. I happen to switch it ON the next day and I noticed that the problem was still existing. So, I called the electrician again and our conversation went like this: Me : Power swtichல இன்னும் பிரச்சனை இருக்கு போல, அண்ணா. வந்து பாக்குறீங்களா? (Looks like the power switch is still a problem, brother. Can you come and have look at it?) He : அப்டிங்களா, sir? நான் நெர்றே எல்லாம் check பண்ணிட்டேன் Sir. எல்லாம் correctஆ work பண்ணுது. சரி, எதுக்கும் நான் இன்னிக்கி சாயங்காலம் வந்து பாக்குறே...

Me, Myself & Mathematics

We all have that fear towards maths, the subject which actually tests our basic understanding. As an elder person we might’ve advised our younger ones to study seriously despite the fact that we did not do the same. Among people who hated maths, I was no different. I have 2 incidents to share from my life that is related to maths. Here it goes- I was studying 4th standard and I feared maths (like, I told you). There was a maths teacher who made us routinely to recite multiplication tables from 5th till 19th tables, every day. (And, I mean everyday!!). The whole class used to say it loudly in unison and the ones who didn’t know were able to escape by lip-sync (just imagine singers lip-syncing on stage without giving you any small suspicions) and one day she came up with a shocking solution. She would randomly point out any person and ask them to recite any multiplication table of her choice in front of the class. I managed to escape a lot of times but luck did not f...

A Ray Of Hope

Have you ever got stuck on the way to your house in the middle of a night; 1 km away from your house, with nothing to light your path but the thunderbolts flashing over you, rain splashing the road almost making it hard to tread upon, a phone that has a single LED flash light but dead battery and ALL ALONE BY YOURSELF?? I experienced it!! One hell of an adventure, I must say.      It happened back in the month of November, 2012. I’d gone to Anna university college, Guindy as I‘d some work which took me less time to finish but then I decided to watch their cultural event Techofes'12, which I ‘d not anticipated that it’d turn into a nightmare later. So... it was very entertaining with all the singing and solo dances, and there was a HipHop dance championship that was scheduled to kick off @ 8 pm. I wanted to leave for home but then I was fascinated by the fact that it‘d be very thrilling to see a HipHop competition happening LIVE. So I stayed back, as I...

People say that Love is the purest thing on Earth, yeah i believe it; we all do, right?? Love from Mom is the greatest of all, then father and siblings. There is the last Love that is special for everyone; all living things on Earth; a different one. Before Teenage we have Puppy Love, during Teenage we get infatuation and then in Adolescent age comes the Mature Love. People try to find their partner, and fall in Love. Before falling for someone, we will be awaiting for that moment but while being in Love "some" may regret for the partner they have chosen. Good and Bad; both choices are out there in the world. When compared to one side of the coin, if falling in Love means HEAVEN, the other side is HELL. WHAT IF THE TRIBAL PEOPLE FIND OUT THAT THE PERSON OF THEIR TRIBE IS IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER PERSON WHO IS OUT OF THEIR CASTE?? Like an alarm before the upcoming Valentine's day - 2014, a blood chilling incident had taken place in West Bengal. All tribal group...
